AMY WATSON

Amy Watson is a mother and preschool teacher from Portland, Oregon. As the founder of the Long Haul COVID Fighters groups on Facebook, she unintentionally coined the term, “long hauler” with regard to those dealing with lengthy COVID recoveries. She contracted COVID-19 in mid-March of 2020 and is still working to recover. In the “before times,” she had a love/hate relationship with running and enjoyed hiking and camping in the Pacific Northwest with her partner and two dogs. She now spends her time reading, knitting, and forest bathing. She is committed to supporting her fellow long haulers via support groups that are exclusively for COVID survivors and spends time promoting awareness and advocacy on behalf of them.

KATE PORTER

Kate Porter, is a Marketing Director who lives near Boston, Massachusetts. She is currently an admin for the Long Haul Covid Fighter Groups and creator of C19RecoveryAwareness.com, which launched in May of 2020 with the goal of directing fellow patients to resources and articles to share with their providers and others who are unaware of the long-term recovery Covid forces upon many. Prior to becoming ill, Kate was an avid volleyball and softball player and had a growing photography business. She is a single mother to a 12-year-old daughter (who is also a long hauler), 2 cats, and a rescue pup. She hopes to continue to grow awareness and advocate for resources and research for those struggling with Long Covid.
